Join us for a transformative 3-day Diaspora Experience as part of Ete Dza 2025 (New Yam Festival) — a sacred celebration of gratitude, unity, and ancestral renewal in Hedzranawo–Denu, Volta Region.

The Ete Dza Festival is a centuries-old tradition marking the harvest of the new yam — a symbol of fertility, prosperity, and thanksgiving to the ancestors. This year’s theme, “Honoring the Harvest, Restoring Our Roots,” invites members of the African Diaspora to reconnect with their ancestral homeland through culture, ceremony, and community engagement.

Experience the rhythm of the drums, taste the first fruits of the harvest, and stand together in unity as we honor the ancestors and celebrate the spirit of return.

Are you new to Ghana and eager to connect more deeply with your new home? Join our Beginner Twi Language Class (Level 1) — a welcoming and practical course designed especially for first-time learners and newly relocated individuals.

In this 12-week course, you’ll build confidence in basic conversation and cultural interaction, with a focus on real-life situations like greetings, market shopping, asking for directions, and more. Whether you’re here for work, reintegration, or cultural immersion, this class offers the tools you need to thrive.

What You’ll Learn:
Essential vocabulary & greetings
Common phrases for daily living
Asking for help and directions
Numbers, days of the week, and basic sentence structure
Cultural norms and conversational etiquette

Class Format:

Weekly 1-hour group sessions
Weekly 30-minute reinforcement practice 3 days after each class
Materials and homework via ADRC’s e-learning platform
Supportive learning community of fellow diasporans

Ghana Cultural Orientation Training
